New Delhi. Rajya Sabha Chairman Jagdeep Dhankhar has suspended Trinamool Congress (TMC) MP Derek O'Brien from the House for the remaining days of the Monsoon Session of Parliament. Chairman Dhankhar reprimanded Derek O'Brien on Monday for creating a stir during the discussion on the bill brought on Delhi. Brian was constantly commenting and was seen speaking loudly in the House. Chairman Jagdeep Dhankhar had also warned to suspend him on this. Dhankhar had also termed the behavior of TMC MP Derek O'Brien as a drama. Minister Piyush Goyal proposed suspension in the Rajya Sabha on Brian's behavior. On which the Chairman announced Brian's suspension after taking the House's opinion.
Earlier, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MP Sanjay Singh was also suspended by the Speaker for the remaining days of the Parliament session for creating a ruckus in the Rajya Sabha and not sitting in his seat. Sanjay Singh was also warned by Jagdeep Dhankhar several times to improve his behavior. Jagdeep Dhankhar has been continuously saying that the whole country watches the proceedings of the House. In such a situation, MPs should demonstrate good behavior. He had also constantly appealed to all the MPs of the ruling party and the opposition to remain calm and speak their words.
Apart from suspending two MPs from the Rajya Sabha, Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla was also angered by the uproar among the opposition MPs. Om Birla had stopped coming to the Lok Sabha in the past. He had said he would come to the Lok Sabha once the MPs reformed their behavior. Later, Congress leader Adhir Ranjan Chowdhary urged him to go to the House. Om Birla was also guided by the ruling party to sit on the chair of the Speaker. After which, he again took his seat in the Lok Sabha.
