Forty-seven years after the formation of Noida, the state government has gifted another new industrial city to the state. A new industrial city in the name of Bundelkhand Industrial Development Authority (BIDA) will be established on Jhansi-Gwalior road.

                                                                          

Forty-seven years after the formation of Noida, the state government has gifted another new industrial city to the state. In the name of the Bundelkhand Industrial Development Authority (BIDA), a new industrial city will be established on Jhansi-Gwalior road. It was approved in the cabinet meeting on Tuesday. The remarkable thing is that the size of Bida will be bigger than Noida. Noida was formed from 13 thousand hectares of land. Bida is being created from about 14 thousand hectares of land. The government will provide an amount of Rs 5000 crore for BIDA in the first phase.

In the cabinet meeting chaired by CM Yogi at Lok Bhavan, the government approved the proposal to establish a new industrial city in Bundelkhand on the lines of Noida. With this decision, the districts of Bundelkhand will be connected to the mainstream of development, and employment will be created along with the essential story. Earlier in Uttar Pradesh, the decision to form Noida was taken in 1976, and now, after 47 years, a new industrial city is being established. In this regard, Finance and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Suresh Khanna said that the government's seriousness regarding the development of Bundelkhand can be gauged because 11 percent of the proposals have been passed only for this region.

Suresh Khanna said that Bida, to be settled under the Chief Minister Industrial Area Expansion and New Industrial Area Promotion Scheme, will be developed on the lines of Noida. In the first phase, 35 thousand acres of land in 33 revenue villages of Jhansi will be acquired. The price of this land is Rs 6312 crore. The government made a provision of Rs 5 thousand crore in the financial year 2022-23 for the formation of BIDA. This year, in 2023-24, a condition of Rs 5000 crore has been made as a loan under the Chief Minister Industrial Area Expansion and New Industrial Area Promotion Scheme. Of the land acquired, 8 thousand acres belong to the village society.

Acquisition of 35 thousand acres of land in the first phase

After the cabinet meeting, Finance and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Suresh Khanna gave detailed information about the proposals passed. He said that in the forum, under the Chief Minister Industrial Area Expansion and New Industrial Area Promotion Scheme, the proposal to develop a new industrial township on the lines of Noida by Bundelkhand Industrial Development Authority (BIDA) in Jhansi has been approved. In the project's first phase, an industrial city will be established by acquiring 35 thousand acres of land from 33 revenue villages of Jhansi. The price of this land is Rs 6312 crore.

Provision of additional Rs 5 thousand crores made

Suresh Khanna said that a provision of Rs 5 thousand crore was made by the government in the financial year 2022-23 for the formation of Bundelkhand Industrial Development Authority, and in this year (2023-24), the Chief Minister Industrial Area Expansion and New Industrial Area Promotion Scheme. A provision of Rs 5000 crore has been made as a loan under the item. Of the land that will be acquired, 8 thousand acres belong to the village society.

There will be excellent connectivity with major cities.

The Finance Minister said this is a big step for the Yogi government. This historic decision will give a faster pace to the multidimensional development of Bundelkhand. The area around Jhansi will be developed on a large scale. Through this, there is a plan to establish an industrial city on 14 thousand hectares of land. This industrial city is proposed on the Jhansi-Gwalior route, which will also be connected to major cities of the country through the National Highway. Also, it will be well connected to other state cities by clicking with the Bundelkhand Expressway, passing through the Jalaun district from National Highway 27.

 

Employment opportunities will be available with the development of the area.

He said that under the Bundelkhand Industrial Development Authority, all the necessary facilities required for the industrial establishment, including the township, would be included here. Its formation will lead to the all-round development of the area and the generation of employment on a large scale. The general public will get employment opportunities and regional development, yielding direct benefits. This step will also contribute considerably to the state's development. This will achieve the government's resolve to become a one trillion economy.

An aspirational city plan will be implemented in the 100 most backward urban bodies.

The Yogi Cabinet has also approved the proposal to implement the Aspirational City Scheme in the 100 most backward urban bodies with a population of 20 thousand to one lakh. Under this, projects will be implemented through conversion by getting support from the government schemes currently running in these urban bodies and other institutions, including the Central and State Government, MP, and MLA funds. Under the plan, 100 aspirational urban bodies out of 762 urban bodies will be selected by NITI Aayog based on 16 parameters. This scheme will remain in force till 31 March 2026, but its monitoring will continue till 31 March 2028 through the dashboard. This scheme will help prevent migration by making ideal use of resources and increasing opportunities for economic development.

AC electric buses will also run in Saharanpur, Ayodhya, and Firozabad.
The proposal related to the operation of AC electric buses in Saharanpur, Ayodhya, and Firozabad also got a green signal in the cabinet. It has been decided to form a new SPV under the chairmanship of the Commissioner of the concerned division under the Companies Act 2013 for the operation, management, and maintenance of electric buses in these cities. SPV will have the right to decide the bus routes in cities. Apart from determining the fare on the streets, passengers will also have the right to discuss the facilities provided. Notably, 740 AC electric buses are currently being operated through 13 SPVs in 14 state cities.
