Health experts say that most of people do not recognise the symptoms of heart attack; they consider them as everyday chest pain problems, due to which there is a delay in getting treatment, and many of these people die
The problem of heart attack is increasing day by day. Now younger people are suffering more from the problem of heart attack than older people. But even after this, you will be surprised to know that only one out of ten victims is able to reach the hospital on time. Health experts say that most people do not recognize the symptoms of heart attack, they consider them as normal chest pain problem, due to which there is delay in getting treatment and many of them die. In fact, even in cases of heart attack, some such symptoms are included, which are visible even in some prevalent circumstances. This is why people make mistakes in understanding. For example, dizziness is a significant suspicion of a heart attack, but sometimes it also occurs due to weakness, not eating food on time, or low or high sugar levels. In such a situation, people misunderstand what is the real reason behind their dizziness.
Similarly, a burning sensation or mild pain in the chest sometimes occurs due to acidity in food. But this is considered to be the most severe symptom of a heart attack. Many times, people associate it with edge and start trying to treat it at home. In such a situation, until the condition of the victim becomes very serious, they do not go to the hospital, and by then, there is a delay in getting treatment.
What do health experts say
Dr Amitabh Yaduvanshi, the senior cardiologist at Holy Family Hospital, told Amar Ujala that heartburn is one of the most severe symptoms of heart disease. But people consider it to be a typical problem, due to which many times there is a delay in getting treatment, and the person loses his life. But if such patients can be taken to hospital on time, their lives can be saved.
He said that tightness in the chest, the feeling of heaviness, feeling one's pulse, pain in the upper limbs, a burning sensation in the chest, dizziness and sweating more than usual could be symptoms of a heart attack. In such a situation, one should immediately reach the nearest hospital.
The most significant cause of heart attack among youth
Worldwide, the average age of having a heart attack in men is 64.5 years, while for women, it is 70.3 years. But it is being seen that now the problem of heart attack is increasing among people between the ages of 20 and 50 years. The biggest reasons for this can be stress, unhealthy eating habits and irregular lifestyle.
Dr Nishith Chandra, the senior cardiologist at Fortis Escorts Heart Institute, said that in the cases of a heart attack in youth, it is most often seen that there is a blockage in one of their arteries. If such patients are given angioplasty on time, such children can be saved.
Angioplasty involves widening the blocked artery with a balloon-like tube to ensure blood flow. In this procedure, a stent is also inserted, which works to prevent the street from getting blocked again. But it is pretty compelling, and once angioplasty is done, patients do not have the problem of blockage at that place for a long time.
Chances of getting treatment if tests continue
Dr Vivek Kumar, the cardiologist at Max Superspeciality Hospital, said that the problem of heart attacks increases due to wrong eating habits, hypertension, diabetes and obesity. The possibility of heart attack problems can be reduced by making necessary changes in diet and lifestyle. If there is a history of heart attack, diabetes or hypertension in the family members, then after attaining the age of 30 years, doing related tests from time to time can help in identifying the heart attack at the right time and treating it.
