Power units are stalled in UP due to various reasons. A power crisis may persist in the state for about a week. There may be power cuts of five to six hours every day.
The power crisis will continue in Uttar Pradesh for almost a week. There may be a cut of 5 to 6 hours in rural areas. Failure of the main supply for about 6 hours means that, including local fault and other works, electricity will be available in the concerned area for up to 10 hours. Because when 18 hours of electricity supply is claimed, then in most rural areas, electricity is available only for 10 to 15 hours.
There was a disturbance in four production units of the state on Sunday evening. In two teams, there has been a boiler malfunction, and in one unit, some other technical fault is being reported. Similarly, production in a unit has come to a halt due to less supply of coal. In such a situation, the total production in the state has declined by about 2.5 thousand MW.
During this period, the electricity consumption is around 21000 MW, but due to an increase in humidity on Tuesday, this consumption can go up to 24000 MW. On the one hand, domestic production has decreased, and on the other hand, consumption has increased. In view of this situation, the Power Corporation has started curtailment. On Monday, there was an official power cut in some areas for one and a half to two hours and in some areas for three hours.
