In a crackdown on child trafficking in the capital, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) conducted raids against criminals following information on the buying and selling of children.
CBI Raids on Child Traffickers in Delhi: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) conducted raids in the capital city, Delhi, and some areas of the NCR (National Capital Region) in connection with child trafficking cases. During these operations, the CBI rescued 7-8 children who were being bought and sold. Several individuals involved in the crime have been detained for questioning by the investigative agency.
According to available information, those arrested by the CBI after the raids include hospital ward boys along with several men and women. Interrogations are ongoing with these individuals to gather more information related to child trafficking cases. The CBI conducted raids in various parts of Delhi on Friday. During one of the raids, the team rescued two newborn babies from a house in Keshavpuram, Delhi. Initial investigations suggest involvement in the trafficking of newborn babies. Currently, the CBI team is interrogating individuals involved in selling and buying children.
In this case, the CBI has detained a woman and several others for questioning. It has been reported that information about children going missing from hospitals in Delhi was received recently, prompting the investigative agency to act on child trafficking suspicions. It is said that both these aspects are linked, leading to the raids being conducted. Delhi houses some of the country's largest hospitals, in addition to dozens of other medical facilities equipped with delivery services. Exploiting this, some criminals have resorted to disappearing babies from maternity wards to engage in their buying and selling.
