AAP Leader Sanjay Singh Bail in Delhi Excise Policy Case Says BJP Amit Shah PM Narendra Modi Trying To Stop Delhi Govt From Working Sanjay Singh Challenges ED, Then Finds Himself Behind Bars Again? What did he say after getting bail? Find out everything

Sanjay Singh: Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader and Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Singh was released from jail on Wednesday (April 3). His bail was heard in the Supreme Court, which considered various factors, including the seriousness of the charges, the evidence presented, and the potential risk of flight. The Enforcement Directorate (ED) refused to object to his bail, further strengthening his case. In this way, the path to Sanjay Singh's bail became apparent, and he came out after spending six months in Tihar Jail. Sanjay Singh's supporters were waiting for him outside the jail.

However, despite Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Singh getting bail, his three colleagues are still in jail. This includes Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, who was captured on March 21 and is currently in judicial custody, and former Deputy CM Manish Sisodia and Satyendra Jain, who are also in jail. The situation remains tense as the legal battle continues for these leaders.

Sanjay Singh Challenged ED's Arrest

Sanjay Singh is known as one of the most outspoken leaders of the Aam Aadmi Party. He had accused the central government of being involved in the Delhi liquor policy case after the arrest of Sisodia and Satyendra Jain. BJP leaders were saying that Sanjay Singh was also involved in the liquor policy scam. After being named in the ED chargesheet, the BJP became even more aggressive. That's why Sanjay used to challenge the ED every day to come and arrest him.

What Case Was Sanjay Singh Arrested In?

Sanjay Singh was arrested on October 4, 2023, in the Delhi liquor policy case, a case that has significant implications for Indian politics. Before his arrest, he was interrogated for 10 hours. In the liquor policy case, government witness Dinesh Arora, who became a government witness, told the ED that he had raised funds for AAP at Sanjay Singh's behest. Arora claimed that he had raised Rs 32 lakh for the party. The ED alleged that Sanjay Singh was the main conspirator in this entire alleged scam. The case has raised questions about the transparency and integrity of political fundraising in India.

The ED's accusations against Sanjay Singh were severe. He was charged with making money illegally, allegedly from the crime committed by the liquor policy scam. The ED claimed that he was part of a conspiracy to collect bribes from liquor groups. The evidence, including his call records with Dinesh Arora, suggested a deep connection between the two since 2017. The ED further alleged that Arora had spoken to many restaurant owners at Sanjay Singh's behest.

The investigative agency, the Enforcement Directorate (ED), also accused Dinesh Arora of arranging a check for Rs 82 lakh to collect party funds for the elections. The ED, a government agency responsible for executing economic laws and fighting financial crime in India, also alleged that Arora had given Sanjay Singh Rs 2 crore in cash twice each. The bribe money was said to have been given to Sanjay Singh between August 2021 and April 2022. It was on this basis that the ED arrested the Rajya Sabha MP after interrogation.

What Did Sanjay Singh Say After Coming Out of Jail?

As soon as Sanjay Singh came out of jail, he showed a bold attitude against the government. After getting bail, he accused the BJP of wanting to shut down free water, electricity, and Mohalla clinics in Delhi. That is why Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal is being asked to resign. Sanjay Singh told his supporters outside the jail that this is not the time to celebrate, but it is time for struggle. During this time, there was also a lot of sloganeering in support of Sanjay Singh. His release has been met with mixed reactions, with the BJP and other political parties criticizing his statements and questioning the timing of his release.

AAP leader targeted PM Modi after bail, saying, "PM Modi, listen carefully. Everyone from the party leader to the MLA and worker stands with Arvind Kejriwal. BJP leaders are asking why Kejriwal is not resigning. In fact, these people are not asking for Kejriwal's resignation, but they are saying why he is not closing free electricity and Mohalla clinics in Delhi." Sanjay Singh's statements have the potential to galvanize the AAP's supporters and could shape the party's strategy in the coming months.

Taking a dig at PM Modi, Sanjay Singh said, "If opposition-ruled states like West Bengal, Punjab, and Tamil Nadu's police knock on their door, will Prime Minister Narendra Modi be involved in the investigation?" He further said, "If tomorrow the police of Telangana's Chief Minister Revant Reddy and Karnataka's CM Siddaramaiah come to Home Minister Amit Shah, will you say I am the Home Minister? Stop this drama because Kejriwal will not resign."
