On Monday, voting took place for 14 seats in Uttar Pradesh, including the Jhansi-Lalitpur parliamentary constituency. In this context, the people of Salda village, located in the Mahroni assembly constituency of Lalitpur district, demonstrated the strongest example of democracy by achieving a hundred percent voter turnout. One of the voters even flew in by flight to cast his vote. Salda village is predominantly inhabited by tribal communities.
As soon as voting commenced, a large number of people from Salda village came out of their homes to cast their votes. It may surprise you that by one o'clock in the afternoon, a hundred per cent of the people had voted at the polling booth. A polling booth was set up in the primary school of this village, with 277 registered voters. In total, 375 voters were registered. People arrived at the booth in traditional attire, dancing and singing, and by noon, 374 voters had cast their votes, except for one individual, Shyam Singh Yadav.
Upon inquiring about Shyam Singh Yadav, it was discovered that he was arriving by flight. Around noon, Shyam Singh Yadav reached the polling booth and cast his vote. The list of hundred per cent voting also includes two other villages in Lalitpur. The District Magistrate stated that this was made possible through the efforts of the village head and officials. The DM praised the cooperation of the villagers.
The enthusiasm among the villagers regarding the hundred per cent voter turnout is palpable. At a time when people are not stepping out of their homes due to the scorching heat to vote, this village in Lalitpur has set a splendid example. In this festival of democracy, there is much to learn from these villagers about how everyone should participate. That's why everyone is talking about these villagers today.
